The fight between actors Nayanthara and Dhanush over a Netflix documentary has reached the courts. Dhanush, on behalf of his production house Wunderbar Films Private Limited, has filed a civil suit against Nayanthara, her filmmaker husband Vignesh Shivan, their production house Rowdy Pictures Private Limited, and two others over the unauthorised use of clips from his film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in the recently released Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale.
The Hindu reported that the case was heard in Madras High Court today, November 27. During the hearing, Justice Abdul Quiddhose asked Nayanthara, Vignesh and others to respond to the allegations levelled against them.
The report also stated that Dhanush's production house has asked the Madras High Court to grant permission to sue Los Gatos Production Services India LLP, an entity through which Netflix reports its content investments in India, which is based in Mumbai.
The court heard both parties' preliminary arguments. It also noted that a major part of the cause of action had arisen within the jurisdiction of the High Court. As per reports, Nayanthara will have to respond to the notice at the next hearing.

In the letter, the actress accused Dhanush of personal grudges in the legal action against her and her husband for using a 3-second BTS clip from the 2015 film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in in her docu-series without his permission.
In the open letter, Nayanthara accused Dhanush of holding a personal grudge against her and Vignesh. She wrote it was a 'low' move to demand Rs 10 crore from them to use just a 3-second clip.

DhanushDhanush's lawyer reacted to the letter by issuing a statement, which read, “My client is the producer of the film and they know where they have spent each penny for the production of the film and your client has stated that my client has not commissioned any person to shoot the behind the scenes footage and the said statement is baseless and your client is put to strict proof of the same”.
His team also mentioned that the behind-the-scenes footage belongs to their client as the producer of the film. The team of the docu-series was also asked to take down the footage within 24 hours.netent slots
