The fifth-seeded Tunjung defeated the Japanese shuttler Natsuki Nidaira in straight sets in the round of 16 on Thursday to enter the next round and now she will face her old nemesis Sindhu in the quarterfinals.
Sindhu is ranked 16 in the BWF women's rankings and she is coming after beating Manami Suizu in the round of 16 match. Despite losing against Tunjung in the last match they played against each other, Sindhu will be backing herself.
The Indian shuttler has won nine games against her opponent so far and she will be keen to perform better this time to come on top and enter the next stage of the India Open 2025.
